We can assist in establishing a physical therapy prescription.
No, an internal pelvic floor assessment can provide useful data in patient care, but is not required for pelvic floor physical therapy evaluation and treatment. An internal assessment is only performed if the patient is comfortable with that being a component of care, and if patient symptoms indicate it is an appropriate measure of physical therapy evaluation and treatment. Patient's can always request the presence of a third party during the pelvic floor assessment and treatment.
A typical evaluation consists of a conversation about the reason you are seeking care, personal history, and then an assessment of the issue itself.
